Enbridge Gas Home Efficiency Rebate

*Heat pumps for this new program will NOT have to deliver heat to your entire home to qualify anymore. It just needs to be an eligible package installed.

Here's How It Works:

Step 1: Get a Home Energy Assessment

Getting a home energy assessment is the first step in the Enbridge Gas Home Efficiency Rebate process. This assessment will determine which upgrades are right for your home.

Discover your home’s energy potential.

A home energy assessment provides a comprehensive evaluation of your home’s energy use, identifying areas where you can save money and improve comfort. A registered energy advisor will inspect your home from top to bottom, providing an EnerGuide rating and detailed recommendations for upgrades.

Before making energy-saving improvements, an initial home energy assessment is essential. Contact an Enbridge Gas approved service organization to schedule this assessment. The process typically takes about two hours, followed by a one-hour follow-up.

Invest in your home’s future.

While there’s a cost for the initial and follow-up assessments, you’ll receive a rebate of up to $600 once you complete the program. This investment can lead to significant long-term energy savings.

Step 2: Discover Your Upgrade Options

The initial assessment will determine which energy-saving upgrades qualify for rebates. Your energy advisor will create a personalized plan outlining recommended improvements to maximize your home’s efficiency. The following is a list of qualifying upgrades, including heat pumps,  with their rebate amount.

Step 3: Complete at Least 2 Qualifying Upgrades

You select your own contractor to install your upgrades, but you need to do a minimum of two qualifying upgrades in order to qualify for the Enbridge Gas Home Efficiency Rebate.

Step 4: Get a Follow-up Energy Assessment

Once your qualifying upgrades are installed, schedule a follow-up assessment within 120 days of your initial evaluation or by December 31, 2025, whichever comes first. This one-hour visit confirms your completed upgrades and finalizes the rebate process.

Step 5: Rebates Will Be Awarded as of January 2025

Cheques will be issued starting January 2025. You’ll also receive a $600 rebate to cover the cost of both energy assessments.
